What Admitlist records
We use first-party analytics to understand whether the site is useful. We record an anonymous browser identifier, a temporary session identifier, pages visited, referring campaign information, broad device type, questionnaire progress, San Francisco ZIP code, questionnaire choices, generated-list interactions, school-profile clicks, shares, exports, and voluntary usefulness feedback.
What we do not ask for
Admitlist does not ask for a parent or child’s name, email address, birthdate, school application, household income, or exact street address. The product is designed for adults making school decisions, not for children to use directly.
How the information is used
- Measure whether families complete and use their shortlists.
- Improve questions, matching logic, and school information.
- Understand aggregate neighborhood demand.
- Measure advertising campaigns without sending questionnaire answers to advertising platforms.
- Identify errors, abuse, and performance problems.
Advertising measurement
When advertising accounts are connected, Google and Meta may receive high-level events such as “shortlist completed.” Admitlist will not send them ZIP codes, questionnaire answers, recommended schools, or child information. Marketing tags will not be activated without the appropriate notice and controls.
Sharing a shortlist
A shared-list link contains the ZIP code and questionnaire choices needed to recreate that list. Anyone who receives the link can open those choices, so only share it with people you trust. The portion of the link containing the list is not included in ordinary web-server requests.
Hosting logs and retention
Namecheap, our hosting provider, maintains standard web-server access logs that can include an IP address, request time, page, referrer, and browser information. Admitlist’s first-party event records exclude raw IP addresses and raw browser identifiers and are automatically removed after approximately thirteen months.
Selling information
Admitlist does not sell family information or allow schools to buy a higher recommendation. If those practices ever change, this notice and the product controls will change before the data use begins.
